Nearly half of Britons ‘would like to buy abroad’
Almost half of people in the UK would be interested in buying abroad or living abroad, according to new research.
Bank of Scotland International has conducted a study and found that 42 per cent would consider making the move, with Australia the top spot with ten per cent of the vote.
France was the highest-ranked European destination with six per cent, followed by Spain with five per cent.
And Tony Wilcox, managing director at the company, claimed that personal finance should always be a high priority no matter where a person chooses to live.
"[When moving abroad] you need the right products and services in place, so that you have a firm foundation for your finances, no matter where you are," he said.
It may be that those who are considering emigrating are doing so in the face of spiralling house prices.
Last month, Rightmove found that houses in the UK went up an average of £8,000.
